Cat Chat ®

Tracie originally spent 7 years on the Martha Stewart channel of SiriusXM satellite radio producing and hosting CAT CHAT® as a live, call-in show - helping cat owners solve the mysteries and challenges of living with felines, base don her encyclopedic book, THE CAT BIBLE: Everything Your Cat Expects You to Know, which exposed myths and misconceptions, especially about what to feed a cat (calling any dry food for the obligate carnivores “kitty crack”). This show continues to offer advice, information and support for cat lovers, with the on-air assistance of the Official Vet of the show, Dr. Elizabeth Hodgkins.

Dealing with Community Cats of Hawaii

Cat Chat (03-19-2018) #1077: Katie Lisnick, the Director of Cat Protection & Policy for the Humane Society of the United States, talks about their work on behalf of community cats in Hawaii, which is the most challenging state in the United States in which to navigate the tricky cats/wildlife issue. Conservationists in Hawaii are deeply concerned about the large free-roaming cat population that seriously impacts the many birds on the islands — and HSUS wants to intercede on behalf of the cats, but implementing trap-neuter-release principles is not straight-forward with the geographical and other local practical challenges.
