Discussion and Reading with Ann Patchett

Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (02-04-2017) #510: The Ann Patchett show! The much-lauded (and Tracie’s adored) novelist fills the entire show reading canine selections from her amazing book of essays entitled THIS IS THE STORY OF A HAPPY MARRIAGE. Patchett discusses choosing dogs over babies as a lifestyle decision, the special qualities of her late dog Rose, her unflappable current dog Sparky, the blog of the Shop Dogs (parnassusmusing.net/category/shop-dog-diaries/page/2/) of her bookstore Parnassus in Nashville, her new novel COMMONWEALTH (set partially in Amagansett) and the admission of how she acquired Rose at a dog fair by snatching her from the arms of a small blonde deaf girl wearing a tutu that matched the tutu on her Labrador Retriever.
