Farm Animal Welfare: Shop With Your Heart

Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (11-05-2016) #497: Daisy Freund, Director of Farm Animal Welfare for the ASPCA, recently launched a campaign for farm animal welfare called Shop With Your Heart, which encourages mindful purchasing decisions by choosing animal products that come with third-party verified certifications — Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Humane and/or Global Animal Partnership; Meg Rosoff calls from England to talk about her delightful novel, JONATHAN UNLEASHED; Kathy Hooks is the Employment Director of Daybreak — a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter, outreach programs, and transitional housing to youth who are experiencing homelessness in Dayton, Ohio — along with their own bakery that employs some of these young people to produce Lindy & Company healthy dog treats, with 100% of the proceeds going towards sheltering street youth.
