The Disturbing Truth About Puppy Mills

Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (6-18-2018) #575: Featuring Rita Mae Brown, Shana Feste, and Rory Kress. The inimitable author Rita Mae Brown is back with yet another feline-and-Virginia- history-inspired thriller (and of course with talking animals!) in PROBABLE CLAWS: A MRS MURPHY MYSTERY; film writer and director Shana Feste’s hilarious and touching movie “Boundaries” opens this coming weekend — and is a treat for the performances by Christopher Plummer and Vera Farmiga as an estranged adult daughter and highly original father —- as well as the touching and funny animal-rescuing theme that runs through their unlikely adventure; investigative journalist Rory Kress spent two years researching the USDA handling of puppy mills and some disturbing truths in her book, THE DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW: HOW ONE DOG LED ME FROM THE PET STORE TO THE FACTORY FARM TO UNCOVER THE TRUTH OF WHERE PUPPIES REALLY COME FROM.
