Kathleen Conlee, Vice-President of Animal Research Studies for the Humane Society of the United States, talks about their undercover investigation of the mistreatment of the “Dow Beagles,” showing the systemic cruelty and entirely unnecessary testing of dogs at one of the hundreds of laboratories nationwide where more than 60,000 dogs are being exploited — video released of the investigation shows workers carrying out experiments on dogs on behalf of three companies: Paradox Therapeutics, Above and Beyond NB LLC, and Dow AgroSciences; Dr. Sheila D’Arpino talks about her position as Director of Research for Maddie’s Fund, supporting studies that increase pet adoptions; Mandy Evans is Executive Director of the Panhandle Animal shelter and discusses their Home to Home program.
