We’re All Sad to be Missing the Cat Film Festival – But a Ray of Hope!

I got this note from Jeanne in New York City, who I think sums up how we’re all feeling.

I’ve been to every one of the Cat Film Festivals in New York City. In fact, one year you told me I was the very first person to buy a ticket to that year’s show. That’s how much of a fan I am! So I was definitely looking forward to the new premiere in November 2020, but it was clear there wouldn’t be one. Like many people, my life has pretty much been one of self-isolation for a whole year, since early last March. Is there any way someone like me can still see the most recent festival? I would be very happy to purchase a ticket to view the films virtually. Can I do that? Oh, I hope so. Please let me know what I can do to not miss the festival!

Sadly, Covid robbed us all of being able to enjoy the Festival together, but there’s a little good news!  To see the Festival from last November, it will be available very soon in one place: Lighthouse Film Society in Long Beach, NJ will be showing the Cat Film Festival virtually starting on March 7th through March 21st and anyone can buy online tickets. (and the Dog Film Festival from 3/14 to 3/28)

Also, Dr. Elsey’s (the Founding and ongoing Sponsor of the Festival) has also made it possible to watch free streaming versions of earlier festivals that I have put together into shorter medleys at Amazon Prime & Tubi TV

Franky and JohnnyJeanne wrote back with an adorable photo of her kitties, “Finding out that I can now fill several hours watching cat films in my living room with the boys, Franky and Johnny, by my side is great news for me. I’m glad I inquired. I hope there will be some semblance of “normal life” by the time we get to next year’s Cat Film Festival in NYC on November 7th 2021. I’ll be there! I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks for adding me to the e-newsletter and I will definitely be listening to Cat Chat®.
