Cats as Emotional Ballast for People

Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (08-02-2020) #686: A show totally devoted to cats with Anne Beall, Tori Peterson, and Heather Gibson. Anne Beall, author of HEROIC, HELPFUL, CARING CATS, talks about the many ways cats can be emotional ballast for people; Tori Peterson runs Space Cat Academy where she teaches cats many of the things dogs learn, like the sport of “nose work” (searching for a target scent, like drug-sniffing dogs but for fun), solving common problems without the use of fear or force (no sticky tape/spray bottles) and Trick of the Month Club, where cat lovers learn tricks to do activities with their cats; Heather Gibson talks about cats as emotional support animals and how she breeds and raises Balinese and Tonkinese kitties for this purpose at her home-based Elevated cattery.
