Discussing Influence of Kate DiCamillo’s Books

Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (04-18-2020) #671: Featuring Ann Patchett and Kate DiCamillo. A show inspired by Ann Patchett’s New York Times essay about the power of the books of award-winning children’s book author Kate DiCamillo, which “changed Ann’s life.” Tracie and Ann have a 3-way conversation with Kate about her books BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE, (from which she reads the first two chapters) THE MIRACULOUS JOURNEY OF EDWARD TULANE and a lively 3-way conversation about the creative process — along with the theme of Patchett’s essay, which is why grown-ups need to read books for young people and embrace reading aloud to all ages.
