Dog Talk (12/6/2014) #398: Mega-bestselling author Dean Koontz returns to discuss A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog Named Trixie, his “love letter” to his first Golden Retriever, who taught him so much about life; Karen Morrow talks about the organization Freedom Service Dogs in Englewood, Colorado, which for 25 years has been providing veterans with service dogs, finding them in shelters and training them for individual needs; Dr. Laurie Hess owns the renowned Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics in Bedford Hills, New York, and is world-renowned for her expertise with parrots and other birds, but also has valuable health advice for owners (and potential owners) of other exotic pets — like the admonition that you should be brushing your ferrets teeth!
