NPR LogoDOG TALK® (and Kitties, Too!) originated on the only NPR station on Long Island, WLIW-88.3, where it has been on the air for 13 years and over 675 consecutive shows.  This Gracie® Award-winning show (for “Best entertainment and information program on local public radio”), is produced and hosted by pet wellness advocate Tracie Hotchner. Each show features Tracie’s interviews with authors and pet experts from around the world, discussing far-ranging topics involving practical and philosophical issues regarding our relationships with dogs and cats. The show broadcasts from the East End and reaches all across Long Island, into Southern Connecticut and Westchester. It is also carried on the NPR stations WHDD 91.9 FM "Robinhood Radio" in Sharon, Connecticut. The show's theme song is "Mmm My Best Friend" by Sophie B. Hawkins from her album TIMBRE. Dog Trainer for Canine Movie Stars

Dog Talk (and Kitties Too!) (01-02-2016) #454: Jacqueline Prehogan created Open Farm Pet as a family business making dry dog food from ingredients that are ethically raised and sourced, part of a “virtuous cycle;” Teresa Ann Miller is a dog trainer  who worked alongside her father training the canine stars of the films “Beethoven,” “Cujo” and “K-9” and she discusses how she found and trained the lead canine in the startling film “White God;” John Huston is an Arctic explorer who is featured in the “Mystery of the Arctic Cairn” (which will screen at the 2016 New York Dog Film Festival) and discusses his book FORWARD: THE FIRST AMERICAN UNSUPPORTED EXPEDITION TO THE NORTH POLE.
