(04-30-2016) #470: The New York Times columnist Jane Brody talks about her article describing turning her 16 lb. re-homed Havanese, Max, into an uber therapy dog [“Turning Your Pet Into a Therapy Dog” and  “The Drawbacks of Puppy Love”]; Barbara Natterson-Horowitz, M.D., talks about her book ZOOBIQUITY: THE ASTONISHING CONNECTION BETWEEN HUMAN AND ANIMAL HEALTH that she co-wrote with Kathryn Bowers, relaying the similarities between humans and many other animal species; Meena Alagappan is a lawyer who is dedicated to teaching humane principles in schools through HEART, a humane education provider based in New York with offices in Chicago, Indianapolis and Portland Oregon. They teach K-12 students directly and train schoolteachers to implement humane education in their regular curricula.
