No Cat Left Behind
Dog Talk (And Kitties Too!) (01-23-2023) #814C: Karen Glass describes how the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society in Salisbury, Massachusetts began 31 years ago to cope with the suffering feral cats down by the waterfront. Tracie marvels at their devoted followers who sold out two matinees of the NY Cat Film Festival at The Screening Room theater in Newburyport, MA, of which MMFRS was the beneficiary. From their modest beginnings they have now expanded into other areas of the state with their Cat Mobile clinic on wheels that offers free spay/neuter and other veterinary services from volunteer doctors and vet technicians, their legion of volunteer trappers who catch the feral cats for neutering and health care, along with the dedicated supporters who help identify adoptable cats and prepare them for home life. Tracie says their motto should be “No Cat Left Behind.”
