Outreach Program for Dogs of NY

Dog Talk (09-19-2015) #439: Kim Wolf started the non-profit www.BeyondBreed.org and the outreach programs Dogs of NY and Ruff Riders for under-resourced pet owners in neighborhoods of Brooklyn where she and other volunteers bring food and supplies to those devoted to their pets but challenged by providing for them; Kathleen Walker-Meikle talks from England about The Dog Book: Dogs of Historical Distinction; director Mike Carroll describes the unusual circumstances that led him to make “Dog Soldiers: A Dogumentary,” in 1999 — a documentary about NYC dog walkers that will be in the Dog Film Festival and proves that our dog-obsessions go back at least 16 years!
