(07-30-2016) #483: Dr. Jeff Gerlesits is a vet in Arvada Coloardo who runs with his dog Dawson and has great advice for those who want to do so based on their own dog’s age, breed, and fitness — including not to run before a dog is at least 1 year old and has reached skeletal maturity, how to increase fitness 10% per week, and how to keep a dog from over heating; Jenn Merritt is an educator whose “Be a Tree” and SAFE dog bite prevention program for school children includes the “Good Dog in a Box;” in Colin Campbell’s ONE VERY BIG DOG: FREE DAYS WITH GEORGE he describes how a delightful rescued Newfoundland gets him out of depression, into surf dog competition and changes his life.
