What Dogs Teach Us About Living & Dying

Dog Talk (and Kitties Too!) (12-05-2015) #450: FROM THE MOUTHS OF DOGS: WHAT OUR PETS TEACH US ABOUT LIFE, DEATH, AND BEING HUMAN by scholar B.J. Hollars, who talks about how the ashes of his childhood dog — still unburied — inspired him to explore all the ways the dogs in our lives teach us about living and dying; Inga Fricke talks about how the Humane Society of the United States is working to correct challenges to pet ownership in rentals, especially low income, with their “Pets Are Welcome” initiative www.humanesociety.org/petsarewelcome; Dr. Susan Miller’s Mission Animal Hospital is unique as a full service, non-profit vet clinic that serves low income, elderly, and homeless people, giving deep satisfaction to her and her team to be able to provide top-notch veterinary services to people and their pets who could not otherwise have access.
